Here are 3 hard-won lessons that changed how I relate to working, leading, and living.

Burnout wasn’t just about doing too much.
It was about how I was being underneath it all.
And I saw the same thing in one of my clients — a brilliant high-achieving professional, aspiring coach that was secretly running on fumes.
She thought she had a time management issue.
What she really had was a nervous system pattern of disconnection.
Here’s what we both learned:
1. You can’t fix burnout with the mindset that caused it.
More systems won’t help if your worth is still tied to output.
We had to interrupt the internal script: “I have to earn my rest.”
2. Rest doesn’t work if your body still feels unsafe.
She took breaks — and still felt depleted.
Until we addressed the survival pattern underneath, rest wasn’t restorative. Just another thing to manage.
3. The real healing came from rhythm, not rules.
Burnout recovery didn’t come from strict routines.
It came from learning to listen to the body's real pace.
Letting a new rhythm emerge — one based on devotion, not duty.
I call this process The Slow Repattern™.
It’s not self-care.
It’s a nervous system-led shift in how you exist inside your work.
And it changed everything.
